International Bat Appreciation Day, April 17, 2021

It was Sticky's day. In each of the two rounds played at fabulous Mar-A-Lawno, he flew to a quick lead and poison. Evidently, he benefitted from the pregame kiss from his schmookie. It is likely he also consumed a can of Whup Ass.

With arrogance befitting a first round victor, Sticky mowed down Surferino and Lefty in the second round leaving only Mr. Wicket. Perfectly placing a setup shot in front of the eleventh wicket, Mr. Wicket was on his way to becoming poison. Sticky tried and missed a kill shot but his ball blocked the entrance to the eleventh wicket thwarting Mr. Wicket. Escaping from the trap, Mr. Wicket left Sticky with another more difficult kill shot that he missed. Adroitly, Mr. Wicket placed his ball slightly to the left of the eleventh wicket but in excellent position to go through with his next shot. This prompted Sticky to attempt another kill shot. Taking his time to line up the kill shot, Sticky stroked his ball for what turned out to be the Play-of-the-Day (POD). With unerring accuracy, Sticky launched his shot straight through the eleventh and twelfth wickets, striking the post. It was the most spectacular suicide in recent memory. Round two to Mr. Wicket.

Win, lose, or draw…. how pleasant a time to chat with the cowabunga boys and enjoy the beauty of Mar-A-Lawno on a perfect spring day.
