August 30, 2021 Results

 

All the local Cowabungas gathered to play two rounds today. The weird course, #18, was hard and fast as is the case during summer.  Wickets #3 and 8 proved to be challenging. Although Mallethead had considerable difficulty getting through the first two wickets. A new wifi/bluetooth speaker was installed near wickets #1 and 2 by the groundskeeper, Miguel Miguel. Sticky Wicket managed not to drop his trousers, as he did on August 24, thereby traumatizing those who viewed his considerable but covered rear end.

Lefty was awarded the SOD, Shot of the Day, for a shot that glanced off the Lucifer Crocosmia flower bed  striking Wick O'Shay's ball for a roquet. Of note, Mallethead twice stroked his ball into the box covering the mole/vole traps. Of further note, a Chinook military helicopter buzzed Mar-A-Lawno heading north. 

Due to the increased COVID 19 variant infections in the county, all players wore masks when in close proximity to each other.

August 24, 2021 Results

Course number 13 was chosen for play by Señora Miguel. It proved to be an interesting selection. One which was replete with odd sequences of play and unusual shots. For example, Lefty's ball,  at the turnaround stake, went through wicket #6 but jumped wicket #7. Wick O'Shay hit a downhill shot roqueting  on Surferino's ball causing it to hit Poison Sticky's ball thereby killing Surferino. Also, Poison Mallethead killed Sticky's ball located on front of wicket #11 but went through wicket #11 thereby  committing suicide. Wick O'Shay stroked a long green shot through wicket #9.  Many multiple roquets occurred.

August 18,2021 Results

Sticky earned his third consecutive win in the first game. In the second game, Poison Surferino killed Sticky ending the streak. Alas, a missed kill shot on Mr. Wicket resulted in an easy path to Poison for Mr. Wicket who then killed Surferino and the Visitor from the East.

WoodStock Celebration Event, August 15, 2021

 

To celebrate the 52nd anniversary of Woodstock, Master Groundskeeper Miguel Miguel decorated Mar-A-Lawno with posters and photographs. Attached to wickets 3,4,5,8, 9 and 10 were photos of musicians, Jimi, Arlo, Richie, Country Joe et al. A poster depicting a white bird sitting on a croquet mallet graced the clubhouse and wickets 1,2, 6, and 7. A playlist of songs performed at the concert played in the background. Well done Miguel Miguel!
