Five Cowabungas, Lefty, Mr. Wicket. Sticky Wicket, Wick O'Shay and Surferino, started the first game

on Course #5. Mallethead joined the game in progress and displayed his bounce shot prowess. Lefty took advantage of a grouping of balls at wicket #2 but suffered a lapse in strategic judgment and fell behind only to eventually emerge victorious.

Mallethead won the second game.

The SOD was Wick's long green ace through wicket #8.

The course layout card shown above is part of a collectible series soon to be offered at a reasonable cost to those who are enthralled by the beauty and history of Mar-A-Lawno. The card also served as a visual aid for those players who were addled, spaced, prefunqed, distracted or otherwise not in their right mind. Please note that the numbering of wickets deviates from the usual and customary way they are enumerated.

June 27, 2021 Results

A freshly mown lawn and redesigned course awaited the five Cowabungas at Mar-A-Lawno. Dense fog, sunshine, hazy fog, light wind, high humidity were spot-on conditions for the outer space music playlist. Two games were played.

Resorting to the let-the-others-fight-it-out ploy, Mr. Wicket lagged behind the leaders until he and Poison Lefty remained. Closing in on Poison, Mr. Wicket left himself open for a kill shot. Except, Lefty killed himself with a through-the-wicket shot giving the game to Mr. Wicket who eschewed taking credit for the victory.

The five Cowabungas were joined by Goofyfoot for the second game. Wouldn't you know it, Goofyfoot lacking skill and game experience managed to keep hidden from the leaders until only he and Poison Lefty  remained. It took a while for Poison Lefty to kill Goofyfoot. He was greatly assisted by a poor shot by Goofy who left himself vulnerable for a six foot kill shot.

The SOD was Lefty's long distance ace through the four wicket. There were many suicide shots during the day. The most important of which led to Mr. Wickets victory.

Today's Results, Juneteenth, 2021

Lefty won the first game. Mr. Wicket won the second game. Sticky, Lefty and Mr. Wicket all hit masterful shots worthy of the SOD. The blustery winds off the ocean provided a great degree of cooling in the abundant sunshine and chilliness in the shade. Nobody got stupid, although Surferino failed to note that Mr. Wicket had become poison and left himself vulnerable to an easy kill shot. Such is the case when a player lags far behind the leaders and DOES NOT PAY ATTENTION.

National Something or Another Day, June 17, 2021

Henceforth, the following is true and is the default description of Mar-A-Lawno; a croquet course  of beauty and inspiration evidenced by being wonderfully maintained and  totally bitchin in a beautiful setting near the Pacific Ocean surrounded by fir, hemlock and many other types of trees. If ever the default description changes, note will be made of it.

Lefty, Wick, Mr. Wicket and Surferino placed the first game. Wick, Surferino and Mr. Wicket played the second and third games.

Despite a ban on open during, Mr. Wicket was 🔥en fuego🔥winning the first two games. Surferino won the last game thereby extinguishing the 🔥and saving the unincorporated community. The SOD probably was Surferino's loooooonnnng distance through the wicket while poison suicide shot in the second game. It was a a straight through with authority shot.

National Repeat Day Gathering, June 3, 2021

Three seasons occurred at Mar-A-Lawno when a bunch of Cowabungas converged to play two rounds. Wearing shorts and layered shirts, jackets, vests whatever, five dudes endured wind, clouds, smirr, sun breaks to play the original course, easily remembered by those in their eighth decade. Not you Sticky.

As a paean to the times, The Isotopes "Truth Decay" played exultantly in the background. Playing determinedly in the foreground, Surferino got out the broom from the clubhouse and swept both games. No POD. No SOD. Just killer shots. Reversion to his norm is expected next outing.
