International Bat Appreciation Day, April 17, 2021

It was Sticky's day. In each of the two rounds played at fabulous Mar-A-Lawno, he flew to a quick lead and poison. Evidently, he benefitted from the pregame kiss from his schmookie. It is likely he also consumed a can of Whup Ass.

With arrogance befitting a first round victor, Sticky mowed down Surferino and Lefty in the second round leaving only Mr. Wicket. Perfectly placing a setup shot in front of the eleventh wicket, Mr. Wicket was on his way to becoming poison. Sticky tried and missed a kill shot but his ball blocked the entrance to the eleventh wicket thwarting Mr. Wicket. Escaping from the trap, Mr. Wicket left Sticky with another more difficult kill shot that he missed. Adroitly, Mr. Wicket placed his ball slightly to the left of the eleventh wicket but in excellent position to go through with his next shot. This prompted Sticky to attempt another kill shot. Taking his time to line up the kill shot, Sticky stroked his ball for what turned out to be the Play-of-the-Day (POD). With unerring accuracy, Sticky launched his shot straight through the eleventh and twelfth wickets, striking the post. It was the most spectacular suicide in recent memory. Round two to Mr. Wicket.

National Look Up At The Sky Day, April 14, 2021

No Wick. No Mallethead. No Mad Dog. No Mr. Balls. Just Mr. Wicket, Sticky, Lefty and Surferino for two rounds at beautiful Mar-A -Lawno where the grass was long and the ground was dry. Sporting masks and beers,  players were entertained by the curated, lengthy playlist. The wind made standing in the shade chilly. But in the clear bright light of the sun,  warmth suffused the players and extra layers of clothing were discarded.

Surferino won the first round killing Lefty and Sticky. Mr. Wicket completed the most original play of the day, POD,  by striking the post to become poison but ricocheting through the nearby first wicket to die an untimely and unintended death. His was a never-seen-before-shot that stunned everyone; one for the history book and possibly captured by a security camera.

Mr. Wicket took the second game by killing Lefty with a macking long distance shot. Sticky and Mr. Wicket shared shot-of-the-day, SOD, honors by acing the middle wicket with a shot from between the deck and flowerbed, over the wooden step bypassing those in the way. Great strokes by skilled folks and that's no joke.
