Claiming Lantern Bay Park

A Cowabunga foursome,  Leftie, Mr. Wicket, Wick O'Shay and  Surferino, set up a course on an expansive lawn at Lantern Bay Park. The park is situated on a bluff overlooking the Dana Point Marina and Doheny State Beach. Only a few winos and dingbats were present at the edges of the park.

The course was Scottish in that it was uneven, bumpy, hard and soft. It was also lengthy. The view was spectacular. The wind moderated during the afternoon and sunshine prevailed.

Leftie killed Mr. Wicket to win the first game. The second game ended in an historic and mutually agreed tie between Wick O'Shay, Mr. Wicket and Surferino. The tie was necessitated by the inability of the participants to hit each other with the extremely long shots required by the expansive course.

The croquet traveling set has now been packed and stowed for the long trip back to the sacred and exquisite Cowabunga home course.
